History
Bush should look at what happened to Marcus Licinius Crassus who was desperate to add military glory to his wealth and influence so he decided to pick a fight with the Parthian Empire which used to ecompass all of modern Iran, Iraq and Armenia, parts of Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, and, for brief periods, territories in Pakistan and Syria.
Big mistake, ended up losing at the Battle of Carrhae where the final figures for the Roman Republic's defeat was 4,000 wounded, 20,000 dead, 10,000 captured.
Crassus head was sent to the Parthian king Orodes II
