The Bolshoi always hold a special place in my heart, as I grew up watching their productions on VHS, which featured the performance of the brilliant Irek Mukhamedov who would later dance with the Royal Ballet. This is a lovely gala to celebrate the renovations of the Bolshoi Theatre and its long and distinguished history.
A few years back the Royal Opera House was renovated as well and that made a huge difference, had a backstage tour of the place last year and I was very impressed with the upgrades and improvements.
May the Bolshoi enjoy another century of success.
