What did the Neocons expect? That once they had bombed Iraq to the stone age that the country would become pacified,?

The American Military compared to the British military relies far too much on firepower, flatterining a place. This works fine on big set piece battles but is useless when you are in urban warfare. By the time you get round to bombing a city the insurgents have probaly already left.

The American army is there to make the military-industrial complex money, forget 'efficient' fighting force, its one big cash cow.
