State of British Politics
Brown backs PM's school reforms
This just goes to prove with Brown as PM, it will be more of the same.
British politics is at an interesting place at the moment, on issues like law and order, education and such like there is very little to tell the difference between the Tories and NuLab. Even the Lib Dems want to get into the act of 'who is tougher on crime' bandwagon. Which makes it hard for voters to have any real choice. The Iraq war is another example, we have two pro war parties which stifles real debate.
Tony Blair is determined to turn Britain into some Big Brother state where our every move is watched and monitored and the Tories will gladly support him.
Support for Lib Dems dips after resignations, poll shows
The Lib Dems' biggest problem is that, until the current scandal, no one would have recognised Mark Oaten
The Lib Dems it seems are at a crossroads and these recent scandals cannot of helped their image, it has affected their support.
They have a real chance to become an alternative to the NuLab-Tory consensus, but I fear they will chicken out and aim for the mythical centre ground.
In a way politicans like Blair bank on apathy to keep the status quo.
If you had a option on your vote sheet for 'none of the above' and the majority voted for that, then that would spell out a clear meassage that the populace is unhappy with the current situation.
