Is peace in Palestine about to break out?
Is peace in Palestine about to break out? thats a hard one to judge, there is so much bad blood between the Israelis and Palestinians, it will take years to normalise relations. The issue of Israeli settlements on Palestinan land is still an open wound. I often speak to to Palestinan friends online, and what i get from them is waryiness of any new peace inatives. The Palestinians he knows don't really want Hamas, but everytime an Israeli bulldozes a house or shoots a little girl, their support increases same with when a sucidie bomber blows up a Israeli bus or cafe, the Israelis are that just a little more supportive of projects such as the wall and they begin to dehumanise the Palestinians. Tit for tat violence has ruined both communites. The USA does not help itself since it is hardly an impartial observer, the pressure of Zionism in the states is very great indeed.
US policy in the Middle East has made the same mistakes France and Britain made when they were the top 2 powers in the world, their policy of backing strong arm dictators and corrupt despots against each other has just led to more misery. We are seeing this being repeated in Central Asia with the backing of Karimov, a guy who likes to boil his prisioners alive and he is meant to be an ally on the 'war on Terra' he is just another Saddam once he has outlived his usefulness or overstepped the mark he will be declared 'evil' and 'liberated'.
