Election 2005
Its that time of year again, the three main parties are looking around for votes, offering us tantalising policies.
For me this is the first time I will be voting in a Genral Election, and I read stories about apathy amongst young people, which for the majority is true, however I will be voting in this General Election, the party who I will probaly go for is the Liberal Democrats.
I would of voted Labour but since it is led by Blair, a man who led us into a pointless war and lied to us about the reasons for going to war I cannot vote for them. Blair cannot be trusted, maybe if he was not Labour leader I would vote for Labour but as he is still leading it, they won't be getting my vote.
The Tories are NOT even a possibiliy, I myself can barely remeber the years of Tory Rule, which I believe ended up being 18 yrs (1979-1997), having been born in 1986 that means I grew up under 12 years of Conservative rule, but the effects can still be felt today. The current leader of the Conservatives, Michael Howard is basically promoting a policy of right wing bigotry and rascism, his party is odious and I for one don't want them in power.
Which brings me to the Liberal Democrats, the feeling I get from this party is postive, they were against the war, ID Cards and anti terror legislation, so far so good, another reason I like them in Charles Kennedy seems like a nice guy and the fact he has delayed announcing his manifesto to spend time with his baby is really good of him. The Liberal Democrats come close to my politics, they aren't perfect but they are better than the Tories or Labour.
Remember Vote Early and Vote Often!
