One In Six Avoid Muslims

One in six Londoners admits moving seats on the bus or Tube to avoid a passenger they believe may be Muslim.

According to an Evening Standard/YouGov poll more than a third (35%) of those questioned admitted they had felt uncomfortable while travelling near a person of Asian or north African appearance.

Of those, 47% said they had moved seats or deliberately sat away from them.

The poll also revealed that Londoners support tough measures to catch terrorists following the 7/7 attacks and last month's alleged airline bomb plot.

Sixty two percent endorse police demands for powers to detain suspected terrorists for up to 90 days without charge.

This makes me a sad and more than a little angry, that people can be so irrational, that they make a snap judgement based on a person's skin colour.

That somehow being a different colour means your a 'dangerous terrorist'. I thought we had moved past this prejudice but clearly we haven't.

White extremists’ terror videos threaten Muslims

Far-right extremists are posting videos on the internet in which they threaten to kill British Muslims, The Sunday Times reported.

In the videos, posted in August on YouTube, an American-based open-access website, three men, wearing a black terrorist-style mask and carrying guns, knives and clubs, call on all Muslims to leave Britain or be killed.
