EU approves Bulgaria and Romania

The European Commission has announced that Romania and Bulgaria will be admitted to the EU in January 2007, but under strict conditions.

Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said both countries had made enough progress to join the union.

But they will be checked for progress in curbing organised crime and corruption, and ensuring food safety and the proper use of EU funds.

It always amazes me that British people bitch about 'immigrants are taking our jobs' and 'there is a lack of jobs for Brits', yet they fail to realise that there are plent of jobs out there which Brits don't want to do, like picking vegetables, cleaning hotels, barwork and so on, if they are so concerned about this, then perhaps the should go take up take these jobs instead of bitching and moaning about it.

What must be even rmore frustrating for immigrant bashers like the Daily Express and the Daily Mail is that the Romanians and Bulgarians are fair skinned and so cannot be singled out like those with brown skin.
