Wrangling goes on as leaders gather
Will the G8 acheive anything? That is the million pound question.
It will probaly be a lot of hot air, handshakes and smiling faces for the masses but nothing will really change. The G8 have too much to lose to allow developing nations a seat at the trade table. Their sponsers Big Business can't have that, profit is king!
The whole idea of 'Free Trade' is a myth anyways, we mainly have cartles and monopolies and subsidies. To have a truly free market and fair trade would invovle giving up the government teat. The symbosis between Big Government and Big Business is doing much harm. Without one the other will collapse.

Any empire that can't fight two fronts at once is finished. It contributed to the decline of the British and Roman Empires and if the American Empire is not careful it will head the same way as well.
